Cherry Trio

A small piece, Artist Trading Card size of 2 1/2' x 3 1/2" I did several of these cards a while back, mostly of cherries and pears which I love to draw and paint.  I like to do these small pieces with watercolor pencils. It is so easy to draw with the pencil, then add water to brush and viola' you have a painting. I use Derwent and Daler Rowney watercolor pencils.

  1. Lovely! I think the size of an ATC, when the work is well executed, is not obvious when published, as here. A great drawing---sometimes I have fun trying to guess sizes.
As an aside, I have also had luck with using a bit of alcohol hand gel to Prismacolors, with a paint brush, and blending them some. It is kind of between regular colored pencil and then the pencils that blend with water. No idea what it does to the pigments though.
