Zentangle or Making Marks

No drawing experience is required to do Zentangle. I think of it as 'making marks' that in turn make beautiful and sometimes complicated looking designs. The new book One Zentangle A Day by Beckah Krahula is a six week course in learning to do  this creative and relaxing  technique. Anyone nine years (or younger) to ninety nine years (and older) can learn to do this.
The first lesson will give you three patterns to use
in creating a design that is uniquely yours. Learning
to do the shading is also shown with the designs. It's
what makes the paper look as though it has been
folded or pinched in the above design.

The designs are small in size, usually done on a
3 1/2" x3 1/2 " tile of high quality paper. This one
is even smaller and done in an inexpensive notebook.

This design is from lesson six. There are three
new patterns used plus designs from previous days
lessons.

You can purchase the book from Amazon and other book
sellers. To learn more about Zentangle go to zentangle.com
and to see and learn to draw official patterns go to
tanglepatterns.com. I do recommend the book as it will help
you with step by step  and day by day learning. There are many
other great Zentangle books and sites  for you to explore as  well.

The Santa Line

These 'gourd guys' are in line awaiting their Santa
Costumes.

The Picket Parade

A good time in class painting on 'weathered wood',
the real kind. It really does keep you from making
it perfect and that is not a bad thing. These  paintings
are from pieces of a picket fence donated to class
by Vickie.
